DTP Designer- job post RGBO Cape Town (Remote)

Purpose:

We are looking for a skilled, mid-weight designer to take full responsibility of the design requirements of one of our international clients as well as assist with local clients. This will include liaising with their team regularly, doing routine design work as well as bringing your creativity and initiatives to the table for improvement and better ways of doing this.

Responsibilities:

• Play a proactive liaising role with the international client
• In collaboration with the local manager, represent the company in a good light in terms of all design aspects and requirements
• Deliver all designs on time
• Make suggestions on improvements and bring new ideas to meetings
• Set sampling (DTP) based on pre-populated sampling template
• Crop imagery and colour correct where necessary
• Set files to print (open files and high res print ready PDF)
• Update folders on Google Drive with applicable images
• Update and redesign sampling files to follow new requirements / changes / brands
• Review and refresh the visual language/imagery for the brands of the international client
• Amend brand material for print and digital applications
• Proactively communicate to the local and international team regarding designs that are completed or issues as they arise
• Collaborate with local and international team on various design projects and initiatives
• Ensure all design admin and documentation is stored in the correct way and according to company process flow
• Ad Hoc requests and updates

Experience

• 5 years solid design experience with a proven track record and portfolio to highlight design ability
• International client work would be an advantage
• Knowledge in the following key platforms (some are internal and training will be provided)
• MS Teams / Google Workspace
• Jira
• Monday
• Miro
• Aprimo (asset management platform)
• Twinbru (internal Bru platform for all collections, specifications and collection specific marketing material)
• The ideal candidate is a detail orientated, design professional. For this position, it’s also essential to have a good understanding of website design, graphics design and printing.
